Data Snapshot: Arts Partnerships - Before and After the Pandemic explores the challenges that were faced by arts partners during the COVID-19 pandemic school years. It details what the common characteristics were among arts organizations that had school partners in 2018-19 but no longer in 2020-21, while also exploring such data as whether partners served fewer or more schools, what artistic disciplines they provided, and how we can use this data to build back partnership numbers.

The Westside Media Project

Grant Amount: 10,000

The mission of West-Side Media project and Melody STEM Elementary School is to continue to expose students to the field of media as an art and outlet for communicating their viewpoints and experiences to the general public. The in-school program will provide opportunities and pathways that allow students to build on prior technical and communication skills. WMP will go more in depth this year with equipment setup, producing and broadcasting. WMP will facilitate 4 weekly 60 minute classroom sessions. At the conclusion of week 10, students will be part of a culminating activity where they will have full autonomy to demonstrate the skills they have acquired and showcase short media projects they produced during our 3rd quarterly STEM community engagement event at Melody.
