Ola Faleti is an in-house consultant to the Creative Schools Fund, acting as the Manager for the grants. She is passionate about cultivating a landscape of rich learning opportunities for young people. A Chicago native and CPS graduate, she leverages her personal experience to shepherd donor funds to maximum impact through credit.
Ola comes to this work from 826CHI, where she maintained and grew the organization’s institutional giving portfolio by 60%, securing revenue to support expansion and to serve students in new communities. As Development Manager, Ola facilitated discussions around community-centric fundraising, reimagining traditional fundraising models, and interrogating the inequities of philanthropy. In addition to growing 826CHI’s financial capacity, she also co-facilitated Teen Writers Studio, 826CHI’s yearlong workshop for high school students. Her poetry lesson, “Poets in Revolt!”, reached 20,000 educators through 826 Digital, spawning an anthology of published student writing. Ola’s roles prior to 826CHI, including at Dictionary.com, were in the for-profit sector and revolved around instructional design, research, and developing original web content.
Ola holds a BA in English and in French from St. Olaf College.
