artlook®
Let’s increase arts education access, equity, and quality in our schools.
artlook® is Ingenuity’s online hub for school-level and organization-level arts education data that allows arts communities to work collaboratively and strategically to deliver high-quality arts education experiences to every child, in every grade, in every school. It is a public-facing platform that provides detailed profiles of schools and arts organizations across Chicago, showcasing their arts offerings. artlook® serves multiple purposes: It helps arts educators, school leaders, and community partners access and share information about arts programming, while promoting greater transparency in the sector.
The Creative Schools Survey is also administered through the artlook platform, and those data are then used to rate schools on the Creative Schools Certification, the CPS school-level indicator measuring arts education access and conditions. The artlook database houses all historical data for the Creative Schools Certification (CSC) since its inception in 2012–13. Almost all information collected for the Creative Schools Certification is published annually on artlook school profiles. School profiles also display Creative Schools Roadmaps, custom reports that detail schools’ CSC ratings along with tailored recommendations and supports. Additionally, sector-level trends and findings featured in the State of the Arts Report, Dashboard, and Toolkit are derived from artlook data.

Our goal is to help ensure that every student, in every grade, in every school has access to quality arts programming. artlook® helps make that happen by leveraging administrative CPS data along with gathering data from schools and arts organizations.
