Carey Kogol is an innovative nonprofit fundraiser with over twenty years of experience developing and implementing strategies to secure substantial philanthropic support. She most recently served as Senior Director of Development for iMentor Chicago, a national 1:1 mentoring program that partners with Chicago Public Schools to provide students in under-resourced communities with a volunteer adult mentor. Over her seven years as the development lead for the Chicago region, Carey was instrumental in launching the Next Generation Leaders program to connect Chicago companies to hire Chicago Public School students. Prior to joining iMentor Chicago, Carey served as Director of Development for i.c.stars, a technology workforce development training program.

Carey holds a BA in Marketing Communications with an emphasis on Advertising from Columbia College Chicago. She also has a certificate in nonprofit management from Northwestern University. As the daughter of two teachers, Carey has focused her fundraising career at nonprofits working towards educational equity. She is excited to join the Ingenuity team to raise critical dollars to impact arts education inequities in Chicago Public Schools. She was especially drawn to Ingenuity’s data-driven approach to help schools ensure access to the arts as part of a well-rounded education.

In her spare time, you can find Carey camping or finding the next unique Airbnb experience. She has stayed in multiple converted grain silos, a yurt, and an old mill. She also enjoys cooking and is currently working her way through the America’s Test Kitchen cookbook with her partner, Brian. Carey and her partner are raising two amazing daughters, who both happen to be Virgos, along with their two dogs and two cats.
